Put all commas in lists (e.g., Lytecaster, Calculite, and Decorative). Insert commas in large numbers (e.g., 1,000 and 2,566) unless the number refers to a series or title for which it is not normally used (e.g., Lytecaster 1100 Series). Build fractions using regular numerals and slashes. Leave a space (not a hyphen) between the whole number and the fraction (e.g., 5 1/2). Periods and commas go inside a quote, all other punctuation marks (semicolons, colons, question marks, etc.) go outside. For example: The first words in Lightolier's catalog can be considered to be "Lighting That Makes a Difference." However, couldn't an argument also be made that one should count the words on the cover, "Comprehensive Lighting Handbook"? Phone numbers should be written as follows: (508) 679-8131. If you are checking a punctuation usage that is not in Lightolier's standard grammar guide (Guide to Grammar and Writing) email your question (or any answers that you might have found) to Justin Katz.
